The DiST® family of testers is widely used to measure EC / TDS in drinking water, water conditioning, cooling towers, wastewater, laboratories, agriculture, aquaculture and aquariums, hydroponics and the printing industry. The HI98302 tester is a portable meter that facilitates fast and accurate Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) readings. The casing has been designed to increase its robustness and to better adapt to your hand. It has a large display screen to facilitate readings. This meter has an amperometric graphite electrode that provides greater repeatability in measurements, as it does not rust. An amperometric measurement of CE / TDS is based on Ohm's Law, 1 = V / R, where R depends on the distance between two pins and their surface. Oxidation changes both the distance and the surface, which will directly affect the accuracy. Non-oxidizing graphite pins are able to provide an optimal surface for accurate and dependable results. When calibration is required, simply dip the tip of the electrode into the calibration solution and adjust the potentiometer on the side of the meter. When the standard value is recognized and stability is reached, the meter will automatically accept and store the calibration value.Configuration options include automatic shutdown timing and temperature unit. Auto power off options are to turn the meter off after 8 minutes, 60 minutes, or off. To enter setup mode, the user presses a button located in the battery compartment. In summary, its main characteristics are: • Simple to use: only 2 buttons • Replaceable electrode • Graphite sensor that allows better repeatability as it does not rust • Waterproof • Automatic one-point calibration • Automatic shutdown
