The HI3887 is a test kit to quickly check and measure free chlorine and pH in water. Free chlorine is measured using the DPD method while pH is measured using a visual pH indicator. This kit is equipped with all the reagents and equipment necessary to perform approximately 50 free chlorine tests and 100 pH tests.Chlorine is the most commonly used substance for the disinfection of water against pathogenic microorganisms, in swimming pools, aqueducts and in the food industry. If the chlorine level is not that which corresponds to the pH, its disinfectant potential will be diminished. Free chlorine reacts with ammonia ions and organic compounds to form combined chlorine that has the least disinfecting capacity. The sum of combined chlorine and free chlorine results in total chlorine. Key Features High Resolution - Free Chlorine readings from 0.0 to 2.5 mg / L are determined at 0.5 mg / L resolution. - pH readings from pH 6.0 to 8.5 are determined with a resolution of pH 0.5. Each kit is supplied complete - 2 cubes for color comparison - 1 reagent bottle 1 (20ml) - 1 reagent bottle 2 (15ml) - 1 pH reagent bottle HI3881-0 (25ml).
